It’s amazing how God can use anyone to do His work. Even a sorcerer.
It just proves that no matter who you are, what you do, what your talents are, God can use you to glorify His name. Just take the story of Balaam for example. Balaam, a sorcerer who didn’t even believe wholly in God (he also believed in other pagan gods), was recruited to Balak to curse the Israelites, and after several failed attempts and several different locations, it just didn’t get done. The LORD spoke through Balaam through four different oracles, each one saying the same thing – the Israelites are a chosen people and are not to be reckoned with.
Not exactly the thing Balak wanted to hear. Balaam just couldn’t find anything wrong with the Israelites to curse them. God protected His people from any sorcery.
Today, we may not be sorcerers, but if God can use one to further His kingdom, who is to say that He can’t use you? God is sovereign over both good and evil, which means that both can be used to further His will. I’m not saying that people should do evil because God will turn it into good. That’s not the point. No one of us is perfect. We are all flawed human beings. Some of us have bigger problems than others, but we all sin. God still loves us more than anything, enough for Him to give us everlasting life. We don’t deserve it, but like Balaam, even if we feel like we aren’t the best choice for the job, the simple truth is this – you are God’s choice, and that should be good enough! Just stay away from the witchcraft and wizardry!
Favorite Verse of the Day: Num. 24: 6-7 – ” Like valleys they spread out, like gardens beside a river, like aloes planted by the LORD, like cedars beside the waters. Water will flow from their buckets; their seed will have abundant water. “Their king will be greater than Agag; their kingdom will be exalted.”
Did You Know? In the verse above, “Agag” was the title for the king of the Amalekites, muck like “pharoah” was the ruler of Egypt.
Skipped a day yesterday for my cousin’s wedding (c0ngrats Steph and Cory!), so I’m a day behind, but that should be no problem to catch up to. Looks like probably another week or so in Numbers! Until tomorrow, don’t turn away if God chooses you!
